Get your website COVID Ready for the Christmas

Christmas blog

I know a lot of us just want to see the back of 2020 but from the bottom of our hearts we want to help you ride through this pandemic with ease. With the uncertainty of economic survival, we want to make sure your business is still standing in the midst of all the madness. As physical shops are closing throughout the country, we highly recommend creating a strong online presence now. We have put together some tips for your website that will ensure you can still trade safely regardless of COVID seizing the world’s economies:

– Payment option

Whether you are selling a service, or a product put a Stripe, PayPal or Sage payment portal on your site. This will ensure that funds are coming into your business regularly. I know for certain services this may be harder to do. It is worth considering perhaps taking a percentage of the funds on an online portal and collecting the rest of the funds upon delivery.

– COVID banner

As the government update their policies regarding the COVID-19 virus, it is good to reassure the public that you will be operating following safety regulations. That anyone showing symptoms will not be in contact with the client and where possible meetings will be held remotely.

– Migrate to a stronger hosting package

Depending on what your site is built on, it is very important that the website can handle an increased amount of traffic. A hosting package needs to include a good amount of storage space and bandwidth. The last thing you need is for your website to break because of an increase in the amount of traffic.

– Mobile friendly

A whooping 54% of consumers shop online via their mobile phones. It is very important that your site is mobile friendly and can load quickly. The speed of a site loading can deter a buyer from making a purchase. Try to ensure that all the text and buttons are visible.

– Web Security

As an online shop it is vital for you to invest in web security. Get used to updating your passwords regularly as part of your security protocol. Also purchase a reputable web security software to protect your website from hackers. An online shop receiving regular payments will be a target or hackers so make sure you do have all the measures in place to prevent any issues.

Don’t panic if you haven’t implemented these things yet. It’s ok to do your research and take your time. Due diligence is key in all business decisions. Even if you can’t get it all done by Christmas, we still have the new year to look forward to in the horizon.
