Where to begin?
I know there is a lot of uncertainty and doom and gloom going around but let’s be grateful for technology and the option to run our businesses online.
I would like to urge you all that now is the best time to get a website as soon as possible to ride out this season. If however you can’t afford a website then sell your product or service on a marketplace online.
There are some businesses that need to physically touch people like tattoo artists, hairdressers and make-up artists. This would probably be the time to explore perhaps starting a YouTube Channel or run an online course. You are an expert in your field and you have so much to give. Also e-gift cards can really help your customers invest in your business during this lock down period.
If you are a restaurant business get on to apps like Deliveroo, Just Eat and Uber Eats. There is a percentage to pay but at least the business will be able to stay afloat. Many elderly and vulnerable people could do with warm meals. Provide it at a suitable price and you will be remembered as a hero during a global crisis.
If you are a product based business sell on Amazon, Shpock, Facebook Marketplace, Gumtree and eBay. Make your ads attractive and catchy with great descriptions. There may be more market places but these are the big ones that have a lot of traffic.
This is a reminder as humans that we are capable of amazing things. Even when faced with this kind of adversity where we are fighting an invisible enemy, we will rise and learn to fight. As business owners we are the movers and shakers of the economy. Now pick up your business sword and hold up your shield of innovative ideas. This is not going to destroy you.
